Nina first witnessed the beauty of Christian Hula during an evening baptism

service at Templo De La Cruz in 2000. As the tears flowed from her eyes,

at the awesome beauty in this form of worship, she knew the Lord was

calling her to join Island Praise. Just a few months later she joined as a

Wahine under the leadership of her long time friend, Sylvia Cajina.

Nina would later find out that dancing hula was her hidden gift, a gift given

by God. This gift of hula was given to her by the Lord and she delights in

using it to serve His people and His ministry. Nina continued to grow and

learn in the ministry later joining the Gracious Ladies class.

In January 2006 she was appointed Wahine Leader, and in May she also

took on the responsibility of Keiki Leader. With the help and direction of

the Lord, this ministry will continue to grow and nurture the young women

of Templo De La Cruz into mighty women of God and be a blessing to all

who witness the beauty of Christian Hula.

GRACIOUS LADIES LEADER: VAI VEGAS

Na Kakou E Ola Nei, Kakou Me Kristo 'A'ohe Mea I Hana 'Ohe 'Ia

(To Him belongs the life that we live, with Christ there is nothing that cannot be done)

Vai has been a part of Island Praise for many years. She came to Island

Praise from a secular halau and found great joy in worshipping the Lord

through hula. In 2003 Vai humbly accepted the position of Leader for

the Gracious Ladies class.

Through her teachings and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Gracious

Ladies have become a wonderful blessing to all who witness them minister

unto our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Vai has a passion for worshipping the Lord through this beautiful dance.

KEIKI LEADER: CASSANDRA ROMAN
'O Ka Lanakila No Ku'u Haku 'O 'Io
(Victory to my King, who is God 1 Corinthians 15:57)

Cassandra joined Island Praise at the age of eleven, under the leadership of Belinda

Madali. God has blessed her with this gift of hula and her main focus is to use this

ministry to reach those who are in need of a Savior! She understands that He will

and Hawai'i (Mark 16:15). In 2004 she was appointed Leader of the Keiki class. It

She understands that He will use those who glorify Him to spread the gospel to many. Cassandra has had the opportunity to minister in the islands...from American Samoa to Western Samoa and Hawai'i (Mark 16:15). In 2004 she was appointed Leader of the Keiki class. It has been an honor for her to serve the Lord in Island Praise Hula Ministry. In early 2006, Cassandra felt the Lord leading her into full time Youth Ministry...there is a need there, and the Lord has called her, being obedient to His calling on her life, she must go where He leads and in May '06 she will transition out of Island Praise leadership. We will miss you girl, and don't be surprised if we call you back to help!
